By Losing Excess Weight by Mid-life, Obese Young Adults Lower Risk of Death from Heart Disease

A study following men from early adulthood to middle age found that men who were obese at 18.5 to 28 years of age were twice as likely to die from coronary disease as men who at those ages were of normal weight. The researchers found this likelihood to be true regardless the whether the men smoked or engaged in physical activity. The researchers even took into consideration whether the men had type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.
